"Nationalpark Nockberge" and the "Nockalmstrasse"

The absolute nature highlight of the region is doubtlessly the Nockberge national park, a strictly proteted idyll covering 216 square kilometers (84 square miles) to the west of Turracher Höhe intended to preserve the Nockberge mountains' unique beauty.

Nockalm road offers the opportunity to discover the park's delightful landscape without any considerable vigorous exercise.

Along the road between Ebene Reichenau and Innerkrems one finds various information facilities, children's playgrounds as well as Karlbad bath, a cultureal/historical gem well over 300 years old.

Villach

Villach is less than 40miles from the Turracher Höhe.

The attractive city with mediterranean temper is situated in the region of Carinthia, Friaul and Slowenia and guarantees a great experience.

The community of Villach borders on many lakes like the Ossiacher see, Faaker See, Silbersee and Magdalensee. Mountains, lakes and nature - in summer as well as in winter well worth a day trip!

While taking a stroll through the city of Turrach you may notice the old days of mining tradition. In varied showrooms and in the openair area its easy to experience the history of mining.
